President of Azerbaijan Aliyev visits Scholz in Berlin (26.04.)

Press conference with ICC Chief Prosecutor Ocampo in Berlin and appeal by NGOs

Dr. Luis Moreno Ocampo, international law expert and Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, has accused the government of Azerbaijan to have committed genocide against the Armenian people in 2023, and he is supporting a case against Azerbaijan that was brought before the International Criminal Court last week. At the same time, Chancellor Olaf Scholz is planning to meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is seen as responsible for the genocide crimes.

The Society for Threatened Peoples, the Central Council of the Armenians, the Arbeitsgruppe Anerkennung – Gegen Genozid, für Völkerverständigung, and the International Society for Human Rights would like to invite media representatives to a press conference with Luis Moreno Ocampo, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, followed by a vigil in front of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin:

In their appeal, the civil society organizations are calling on Chancellor Olaf Scholz to publicly condemn the expulsion of 100,800 Armenians from Artsakh / Nagorno Karabakh and to announce sanctions in the event of a renewed attack on Armenian territory.

Following the press conference, there will be a vigil in front of the Federal Chancellery (Willy-Brandt-Straße 1, Berlin), starting at 10 am.
